From the Major Mackenzie culvert closure to the major road widening project on Yonge Street – hear how York Region Transportation Services communicated on a series of road construction projects while engaging travelers through creative messaging and tactics. You will walk away with a better understanding of citizen communications and some new tactics for your communications toolbox.

Caroline Berryman is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and holds an Honours BA in Sociology. She has a Master’s Certificate in Marketing Communications Leadership from York University’s Schulich School of Business and holds a professional Marketing designation from the International Institute of Marketing Professionals, where she is currently the Editor-in-Chief for their member newsletter and Senior Public Relations Manager. After working for over thirteen years in a retail marketing, Caroline entered the public sector in 2006 to work in the department of Transportation Services at York Region. She has led the planning, development and coordination of award winning communication and marketing strategies, including the development and implementation of a marketing and communications strategy for traveler safety with York Regional Police, which was the recipient of the Ministry of Transportation’s Road Safety Initiative of the Year award, as well as a Gold Quill award.
